Sponsored Fitness Circuit

School News 0 Comment

fitnessOn Friday 23rd June the children will be taking part in a sponsored fitness circuit throughout the day. This event was supposed to be led by Sailor Sam Brearey but unfortunately he is no longer able to attend so the day will now be led by GB 100m Hurdler, Serita Solomon. Serita will be leading a sponsored fitness circuit with all pupils, followed by a talk and a question and answer session. The aim is to inspire the pupils to take up sport, but just as importantly to encourage them to discover and then pursue their passion in life. Serita is one of the top 3 female hurdlers, representing Great Britain since 2007. She missed out on Rio 2016 as a result of an injury just 6 weeks beforehand. She is a great example of an athlete who has shown huge resilience to come back from devastating injuries to succeed at the highest levels of her sport. She began taking part in athletics at primary school and was nspired to take up the sport by her older brother.
