We believe that good communication between home and school is essential in helping children achieve and for parents and carers to feel part of their child’s learning journey. To ensure we keep parents informed and support all families in taking part fully in school life we will use the following systems:
School website: this will keep parents up to date with policy, practice, calendar events, term times, clubs and latest information about children’s learning experiences in school. There is a translation facility on the website to enable information to be read in a language of choice.
Teachers2Parents: this is a texting service which will be used to alert families to letters home, remind parents and carers about significant events and provide information at short notice.
Letters home: children will continue to bring letters home as required. The weekly newsletter will be available on the website. Families may request information on the website to be printed off for them if they are unable to access the internet at home.
Parents and carers are encouraged to speak to class teachers if they wish to discuss anything about their child. If it is not urgent the best time of day to see a teacher is after school. Occasionally, teachers might need to make another appointment to make sure that there is time to talk about everything. In addition to parents evenings, where we will discuss children’s progress, there will be regular opportunities for parents and carers to visit their child’s classroom and teacher to see what children are learning.
