Dr Seuss Class

Early Years Intent

At Rosherville we aim for all our children to learn new skills, to develop their talents and with this, a love of learning. We strive for them to be confident and articulate when communicating. Growing into sensitive, tolerant and caring citizens for the future. They will learn to collaborate and flourish through fellowship, learning from and with each other.

Our Christian belief is that the God-given talents of all children should be encouraged and developed, recognising and valuing their unique worth.

Welcome to Dr Seuss Class

Our teacher this year is Mrs McCormick and our teaching assistants are Miss Horrobin, Mrs Kaur and Miss Punshon.

Our topic this term will be Ready Steady Grow where we will be learning all about plants. This will include naming parts of a plant and understanding what they need to grow. We will be learning all about the lifecycle of plants including a sunflower and a bean.

We will be getting our hands muddy and will be planting our own beans just like Jasper from the story ‘Jasper’s Beanstalk’. We will observe and monitor our beans over the next few weeks. We will nurture them and keep a diary of their growth.

The story of Oliver’s Vegetables is all about a little boy who believes he does not like vegetables until his grandfather introduces him to his vegetable patch. Like Oliver, we will be exploring different types of fruit and vegetables and finding out how they grow and where they grow.
