What are we learning about this term?

Over the next two weeks we are going to be meeting Mr Wolf and his neighbours. You might even recognise Mr Wolf’s and his friends from other stories. Mr wolf and his neighbours live in a little village in storyland.  We are going to be thinking about where we live and the key features in our local area.

We are going to be reading the story Mr Wolf’s Pancakes by Jan Fearley. Mr Wolf loves to eat pancakes but feels he is not going to be able to make pancakes without his neighbour’s support. Mr Wolf lacks confidence in his abilities and Butterfly class are going to help Mr Wolf.

Mr Wolf in many stories is often referred to as the big bad wolf. We will be predicting whether Mr Wolf in our story is going to be a big bad wolf or perhaps a big good wolf.

Butterflies will learn to retell the story, create a story map and change an element of the story.

We will continue to learn our phonics, practise our basic skills, join in with daily exercise and learn about Jesus through Religious Education.
