What are we learning about this term?
Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?
This term we will be jumping into Storyland and meeting the characters from Traditional Tales. We will be reading a variety of Traditional Tales from around the World and we will also be reading Traditional Tales with a difference. Butterflies will learn to retell the stories, create story maps and change elements of the stories.
Butterflies will be investigating whether all wolves in stories are bad or are there kind wolves in stories. We will also be using our previous Crime Scene Investigation skills and knowledge to work out who ate all of Baby Bears porridge and broke his chair.
In Science (Knowledge and Understanding the World) will be identifying and naming a variety of everyday materials, including wood, plastic, glass, metal, water, and rock. We will also describe the simple physical properties of a variety of everyday materials.
We will continue to learn our phonics, practise our basic skills and continue to be maths investigators.
